Tyler Rodeheaver is entering his first year as an Assistant Coach on the Men’s Basketball Staff at Garrett College.
Tyler is a a Garrett County native growing up in Oakland, MD and attending Southern Garrett High School, graduating in 2019.
Tyler was received many accolades during his time at Southern Garrett High School including being a 2-time All Area Player of the Year Recipient. Tyler lead his 2018-2019 Senior team to a Maryland 1a state championship appearance, and will be regarded as one of the top players in school history.
After High school, Tyler was recruited onto the Men’s Basketball team at Frostburg State University. Tyler played two seasons at Frostburg State University and was on the inaugural team at Frostburg State that made the jump from NCAA Division 3 to NCAA Division 2 joining the Mountain East Conference. After 2 seasons in the Mountain East at Frostburg State, Tyler decided to transfer to Garrett College where he had one year of JUCO eligibility remaining.
Tyler had a very successful season at Garrett College both as a player and a student. In Coach McCullough first season as the Lakers Head Coach, Tyler helped guide the team to a 19-11 record and a WPCC championship. Tyler was one of the captains on the team and averaged 14 points per game on the season. Off the court Tyler thrived as a student being named the WPCC Academic Player of the Year.
After his season at Garrett, Tyler returned to Frostburg State and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems in 2023. Aside from his experience as an NJCAA and NCAA player, Tyler also has 3 years of coaching experience at Southern Garrett High School. From 2021-2023 Tyler served as an Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach under Head Coach Tom Bosley, and in the 2023-2024 season Tyler was the Head JV Coach for 1st year Head Coach Hunter Broadwater.
In his 1st season on the coaching staff at Garrett College, Tyler looks to bring his passion, experience, and work ethic to the program hoping to ensure success for the team both on and off the court.
