The Garrett College freshmen basketball team erased a 22 point haltime deficit to defeat Westmoreland County Community College 87-86 in Youngwood, PA Friday night. Lamont Powell led the comeback with 21 points while Antonio Marr and David Blanc scored 18 points and 16 points respectively. Jose Rosario and Michael Kimble chipped in with 9 points a piece while Kyree Jones added 8 points. A combination of driving layups by Marr, steady play by Powell, lockdown defense by Rosario and clutch three-point shooting by Blanc helped the Lakers outscore the Wolfpack 58-35 in the second half to get the tough road win. The Laker Freshmen will be back in action as they travel to Scotland Prep on Monday March 1st. Tip-off is 3pm.
