David Wingate enters his first season as the Head Wrestling Coach at Garrett College. A 2017 graduate of Castleton University, Wingate competed at heavyweight, under Coach Scott Legacy, while also earning his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with a Special Education Endorsement.

At Columbia High School, under Coach Anthony Servidone, Wingate was a 4 year varsity starter with 119 varsity wins. He also placed 3 times in the section tournament. He also won New York States 4 times in Freestyle and 5 times in Greco-Roman. David represented team New York at the Fargo Nationals multiple times where he competed in Freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Before taking the role at Garrett College, Wingate was a Special Teams Coordinator and Running Backs Coach for Hudson Valley Community Football, while also teaching P.E at an autism school.
