Lakers use long ball to get to .500

Garrett College hit four homeruns on Friday afternoon to help get past CC Allegheny 21-7 on Friday afternoon at the Diamond at the Lake. Colby Schmitz helped the Lakers score five runs in the first and four in the second by hitting a pair of three-run home runs. Angel Oquendo had a two-run home run and Ty Giblin had a solo shot in the fourth inning to help hang a seven spot on the Wildcats.

The Lakers added a run in the fifth on a sac fly from Schmitz and scored four runs in the sixth with RBI's from Oquendo, Dariel Walker and a two-run single by Tristan Kenzevich. Schmitz scored three runs and drove in seven. Oquendo scored three runs and drove in three. Zachary Hallenbeck and Erick Batista added three hits and scored three runs each. Jacob Kennell had two hits, including a triple scored four runs and Easton Rhoten added two hits.

The Lakers will play CCBC – Catonsville today starting at 12pm.
