Navy holds on to win game one of LAKER series

Freshmen pitcher Alphonso Westbrook entered the game in the bottom of the ninth, with the go-ahead run at the plate with no outs. Westbrook struck out the three batters he faced to earn the save and help Team Navy hold on 11-9 in game one of the Laker Series. Team Navy had a commanding 11-3 lead entering the ninth, but walks and two errors started the rally for Team Columbia as they would plate six runs and have the go-ahead run at the plate. Westbrook struck out sophomore catcher Giancarlo Bernardo and red-shirt freshmen AJ Sanchez looking, before striking out freshmen catcher Lance Vickers swinging on a 2-2 fastball to end it. Game two is today with first pitch at 3:30pm.
